Patricia Azan was born in Habana, Cuba. At the age of six, she migrated to Spain with her parents. Five years later the family moved to the US where she grew up in West New York, NJ. As a small child she always had an inclination for the arts. She loved and studied ballet, piano, and painting. She studied Illustration at Fashion Institute of Technology in NY, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Art. After relocating to Miami, she decided to give her long time love, acting, a try and studied Theater under the guidance of Teresa Maria Rojas Teacher and Director of Prometeo Theater Group, at the time.
There she found her true calling and passion interpreting various characters including the Yerma of Lorca receiving the 1997 Best Theater Actress of the Year from the Acca awards. She has worked on numerous theater pieces with Prometeo as well as other well known Theaters in Miami. She has interpreted works from Hugo Betti, Cervantes, Nilo Cruz, Arrabal, Moliere, Vargas Llosa, and other renowned playwrights. Her work extends to television, radio and film. Her film roles include Aranxta in Paramount Pictures' “The Disciples” and the colorful Elena in “Arroz Con Mango” among many others. She also does Voice over work for numerous dubbing companies, from English to Spanish and vise versa. Where she dubs for Showtime, Starz, Nickelodeum, HBO etc, movies, series and cartoons. Her favorite is the successful “SouthPark” where she does the voices in Spanish of Eric Cartman, Kyle and additional character voices and most of the singing. “Fairly Odd Parents” is another one of her favorites where she is Vicky the baby sitter. Currently, she is filming a soon to be released very original series for My Space and is dubbing Nurse Jackie where she does the Voice of Dr.O'Hara in Spanish.
Her husband "Del Infierno al Paraiso con Escala" author Ernesto Clavelo, also shares her passion for theatre. Patty's greatest joy is her growing super star daughter Katherine Clavelo "Kate" born May 29, 2002. Kate followed in her mother's footsteps as soon as she could sit up and was featured as one of the main babies in the popular "Nature Baby" Musical dvd by Fisher Price.
